I'm a Stark of Winterfell.

These are a few of my favourite things. And they are random and usually don't belong to me. When they do I say, so if I didn't say anything, I'm not taking credit :) free counters

Writes asoiaf to reward re-reading

This is funny since the way he writes ASOIAF is exactly what makes me refuse to ever re-read those books lol

Yes, this series made me want a direwolf of my own. ^^; Ghost is my favourite.

We don’t get to see a lot about Robb Stark, and yet he’s my favorite character.

So. I saw a post that asserted something along the lines of Robb not having a personality despite being a fan favorite. And I decided I just had to respond because I am a silly person who is far too defensive of fictional characters.

(WARNING: MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR ASoS.)

Under the break because this got rather long. Whoops.

I’m crying and idgaf judge me all you want.

This is what I’ve been saying about Robb FOREVER and everyone who has ever talked about him with me knows that, and it’s quite beautifully written down. All that was said about Robb being simply a good character can be said about all the Starks, that’s the reason Sansa wears politeness as her armor, the reason Jon Snow is always oh so conflicted, the reason Arya is always afraid her family won’t take her back (since she’s the one who has broken more moral lines here: she’s only a girl, but she’s also a murderer kills without mercy, through some scheming, while Robb and Jon are men, each with their own fight, they’re expected to kill). Ultimately it’s also the reason of all the bad things that happened to them. It’s what makes ALL OF THEM such tragic characters. It just so happens that we don’t get to see Robb’s POV, so we don’t get to really know what’s inside his head but in the end all that needs to be known about him we get to know through Cat’s POVs. Being a apparently non-developed character only makes him more of a complex character for me, since I have to break his motivations down from someone else’s POV and that’s just amazing imo and makes him King In My Heart.

I do understand why people would think he has no personality, though, and in the end I think it’s pointless to argue with that. They’ll never like Robb, just as I’ll never like Roose Bolton (well, not “just like” the reasons are quite opposite here, but you get my drift eh?) so I respect that opinion and don’t try to argue with them, but as a Robb fan I love reading about him, and writing about him, and I just can’t shut up when I start.
